Soft drinks affect oral health

The American Dental Association reviewed three epidemiological studies that link soft drink consumption and the risk for increased dental caries. It is suspected that enamel erosin is the problem caused by the soft drinks. This makes teeth less resistant to tooth decay.

The ADA approved a policy that opposes soft drink contractual arrangements in schools that influence consumption patterns and promote increased access to soft drinks for children.
