Community Water Fluoridation Facts
Since young Territorial Senator Daniel Inouye introduced legislation to fluoridate Hawaii's water supply fifty years ago, the controversy has continued in public debate.
Fluoride occurs naturally in the water supplies of most countries. The EPA accepts a fluoride level of 4 ppm as normal. Health care advocates and the Center for Disease Control & Prevention recommend a level of only 1 ppm for an effective community water fluoridation program.
