Welcome to the Hawaii Dental Association. The Hawaii Dental Association is a statewide, professional membership organization representing Hawaii-licensed dentists. HDA members are committed to protecting the health and well-being of people of all ages. The HDA was established in 1903 to ensure that patients received the highest quality of care from dental professionals. With a statewide membership of 925 dentists, the HDA represents about 92 percent of all licensed dentists in Hawaii. The HDA employs three staff members at our headquarters in Honolulu.
A constituent society of the American Dental Association, the HDA's mission is to advance public health through professional education, public advocacy, high practice standards and improving the professional practice environment.
The HDA is the voice of Hawaii-licensed dentists in the Legislature. It maintains a clear and consistent message that dentistry is health care that works. The HDA supports legislation that protects the high quality of dental care that Hawaii's residents receive.
The HDA promotes dental-care access programs through the HDA Dental Samaritans, an HDA charitable organization, a network of dentists throughout Hawaii that provides dental care to patients in established dental clinics who otherwise could not afford dental care.
